Pickering War Weekend
Every year Pickering at War weekend sees the town turn back the clock to the war years 1939 to 1945. Focused on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, tens of thousands of people descend to stay in and around the town for what is the busiest event in the calendar.
We open our 6 acre field on a pre-booked basis for camping, motorhomes and caravanning for those attending the event. Bookings are made and confirmed by email. Deposits and final payment can be made either via Paypal or posted cheque. Bookings are accepted on a first come, first served basis with priority up until each 1st April given to returning customers from the previous year.
The field is a ten minute walk from Pickering town centre and is alongside the running line of the NYMR. Facilities provided include toilets (also for toilet waste disposal), fresh potable water standpipes and rubbish disposal. Tractor recovery is available in the event of inclement weather.
